198 BPM

It’s amazing how many times you can drop the f-bomb with your heart pumping at 193 BPM. Despite being anaerobic and fighting to beat the guys next to you; you can still cuss some one out a good dozen times before you cross the finish line.

Tonight the rider was in the wrong place at the wrong time. We had lapped him halfway through the race and normally when that happens you get off of the course. After all you don’t want to be a danger to the other races especially at the end when we’re hammering up the hill at 30 MPH. Yet he stayed on despite being told to get off the course by the official.

My head was down. I had just summated the climb. Everything I had left was being poured into the bike as I dashed towards the finish-line. And there he was as if he was on a Sunday stroll. I couldn’t go right and I couldn’t go left without taking out the guy next to me so I grabbed a handful of brake and waited for the rider on my left to get far enough ahead to safely move over and reaccelerate. All the time cussing out the rider in front of me with a flurry of f-bombs.

Oh and did I mention that the rider was only 13. Yeah, I’m going to hell for this.
